Why We Built This Site
Louisiana gives the public broad access to public records through the Louisiana Public Records Law, including Louisiana R.S. 44:1, 44:31, and 44:32. The hard part is figuring out which office holds the file you want. In Pointe Coupee Parish, the Clerk of Court handles civil, criminal, probate, succession, divorce, family, recording, and marriage-license records through departmental offices. The 18th Judicial District Court hears the main trial-court matters, the Sheriff manages law-enforcement and custody channels, and Justice of the Peace courts handle certain lower-level local matters.
